For Immediate Release

Shafter, CA - Fran Florez, current State Commissioner, former Mayor of Shafter and Democratic State Assembly candidate, announced the endorsement of the California Nurses Association (CNA) – a premiere organization representing registered nurses throughout California and the nation.

“I’m honored to have the support of the California Nurses Association. Nurses are the backbone of our health care system, providing important hands-on patient care for the sick and needy in our community. For years our more rural areas have had a difficult time recruiting and retaining top-notch nursing staff. In Sacramento, I’ll fight to enforce patient staffing ratios and tougher penalties for hospitals that violate those staffing ratios, and to increase funding for local nursing education programs that will help train the next generation of nurses,” said Florez.

The California Nurses Association and the National Nurses Organizing Committee are members of the AFL-CIO. They are leaders in promoting quality care for patients and improved healthcare conditions across California and the United States.
